SCUBA Experience Programs

Try Scuba

The SSI Try Scuba program provides students an introductory scuba experience with an SSI Professional in a pool/confined water environment. This program is great if you are considering to become a scuba diver, but are unsure of whether or not you want to fully commit to a full, formal Open Water Diver Program. Students can be any age beginning at 8 years of age.

Basic Diver

The SSI Basic Diver program provides students with the necessary skills and knowledge to complete introductory scuba dives with an SSI Open Water Instructor in an Open Water Environment. This program is great if you want to become an Open Water Diver, but time is of the essence for one reason or another, such as a vacation coming up really fast. If you take this course, you will be limited to a depth of 40 feet. You will be able to credit 1 open water dive during this course, to the Open Water Diver course if you take the Open Water Diver course within six (6) month of the Basic Diver card being issued. This certification is only good for 6 months, and then you will have to take the course again.

SSI Explorer program provides children with the necessary knowledge and skills to participate in scuba experiences in a pool or combined water environment. This is a GREAT way for you to introduce your child(ren) to the world of scuba. After being certified in this program, students can then go on to earn SSI Explorer Specialties, exactly like they would as a junior or adult scuba diver. They will also be allowed to dive in a pool or confined water environment to a depth of fifteen (15) feet. The minimum age for this program is 8 years of age.
